Skill Building

Testing is Optional, FTC Team 21579, is a robotics team for Middle and High School aged students. Our students learn engineering, computer programming, and machining skills, as well as the problem solving, strategic thinking, time management, public speaking, teamwork, and leadership skills that are essential in any career. The goal of this program is to inspire and support our members to continue to learn and grow in STEM and in their general skills.

Award-Winning

During our rookie (2022-23) season, we were able to earn 5+ awards through 3 competitions, including at the Arizona State Championships.

STEM Advocating

Throughout the year, Testing is Optional students and mentors actively host and participate in a range of STEM demonstrations and activities. Our goal inspire students and adults alike to get into STEM. Another goal of our outreach efforts is to be inclusive to communities that lack STEM opportunities.

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a robotics competition designed for students in middle and high school. Teams of students are challenged to design, build, and program robots to compete in a game-based engineering challenge.
